BulbImportant - payroll
  • If you are transferring from one part of NSW Health to another it is important that you ensure any leave balances - those for flex time, annual leave and sick balances are transferred to you in your new role. Depending on where your new position is located you should follow up with NSW Health payroll if you have any concerns.

Performance and talent management

Performance management is an ongoing process involving regular discussions between you and your manager about continuously improving your work performance.

NSW Health, this means that it gives you the opportunity to talk with your manager about what is expected of you, get feedback about your performance, be recognised for your contribution and achievements and receive feedback on how you can improve your performance and detail any development needs you have.

All members of staff are required to complete a performance agreement and development plan at least annually and are responsible for:

  • Developing their own performance with the support of their manager
  • Actively contributing in all aspects of performance management, including openly receiving feedback and providing open and honest feedback to their manager

Performance management is not a judgement process. It is a process that all staff undertake and a means by which managers can ensure you are meeting your role responsibilities and that any identified gaps in your knowledge or experience can be filled through learning and development. Performance management is an opportunity for you to identify your strengths and any areas that may require further attention.
